hey, Iβm Lavinia Ruf.
I am an artist, designer, and engineer specialised in crafting experiences through art and installations, as well as spatial designs for films, public spaces, and events.
In other words, I design spaces and create art to fill them.
What once started as scribble painting and making tiny homes for Barbies, has now turned into creating spaces that aim to make people feel something deeper.
My creative journey has always been rooted in curiosity and play. Now with a First-Class degree in Design Engineering from Imperial College London, I excel in concepting, visualising and executing sustainable and human-centered innovation.
My work invites people to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find joy in the simple beauty of their surroundings. Whether through art that evokes childhood memories and a sense of wonder, or environments and displays that encourage presence and reflection, my aim is to create experiences that resonate.
I am deeply inspired by mid-century modern and Japanese-minimalist aesthetics, and I believe less is more. I let spaces breathe, allowing their character and the people within them to tell their own stories. My art and designs are quiet invitations to notice, feel, and remember the simple joys that often go unnoticed.
